About the Camino de Santiago

The focus of this trip is the Camino de Santiago. The Camino is a network of ancient pilgrim paths leading to the tomb of St. James in Santiago, Spain. The most heavily traveled route- and the one we will be walking- takes us almost 500 miles from St. Jean-Pied-de-Port, near Biarritz in SW France to Santiago in NW Spain. There will be many other people walking the route, so we are likely to meet interesting people from all over the world.

After the walk, we will head to Portugal to spend whatever days we have left. We fly home from Lisbon via Paris, arriving in Seattle on May 25. You can find out more about the Camino at http://www.caminodesantiago.me.uk/
